Hello all, Vana here again! It's been some months since my last post, I know, and I apologize for it! I said there would be photos in May, but somebody took photos and didn't like how Mara and I look together, so nothing of me, and just as little posted from all the photos she took of Fimara. (She doesn't even have her proper eyes yet!) Anyway, I guess Liz is hoping to get on the proverbial horse by joining psdelicious, a Livejournal group that issues exercises and challenges to help you get better at doing photostories and the like. I guess she felt bad that lately she's taken photos of the other girls and not me (and not poor Brownie either!), so for the first exercise she's trying she picked me. I'm not sure why she decided to have me do the exercise that's about ANGRY emotions... >.> But I'm sure there's a good explanation.

Anyway, behind the cut I'm putting in will be the photos for the exercise, which will also be linked over at psdelicious.

Say! Why don't you join the fun over there? 10/8/08: New eggs! Help a sista out!



So I've gotten addicted (yet again) to these signature eggs. Only this time.. they're a clickable dragon eggs and they need YOUR help! Check it!

My first egg. I adopted him after someone abandoned him (or her):


My second egg, also an adoption, but apparently she (purples are one of the colors that is an all-female color) was the cast off from a breeding (the owner of the breeding female can only keep one egg from the Clutch, so the others gets cast off. Poor male owner doesn't even get one.):


So that same day I made the mistake of not going to bed exactly when I wanted to and went back to the eggs site for a final check for some reason. I got there just as the hourly release of new eggs started, so... I did what I said I wouldn't do.

I clicked.

My first try at a "steal" I got a red egg, then all the ones I went for I kept missing so I finally just clicked fast and randomly on the last set of three and ended up with ANOTHER RED ONE. So I have a click and an "oops" that was born of the panic of the moment. XD So I'll have twins. So... help them out too please?



So Vana has latched firmly onto the purple one, although I can see her eyeing Brownie's green egg contemplatively too. He's too small. I think she can guard it once it's past hatchling stage (or so I'll tell her anyway). And Zrastja effectively took charge of the red twins (red IS her color, after all). They're avidly watching to see whether their eggs hatch into dragons and then what their new pets/guardians will eventually mature into. We're all thrilled, so please, lend a click for each egg? Won't take but a few seconds of time, and every IP address only gets one click and one unique view, so you'll have to do it once if you wanted. ^_^

I may not have posted it here, but everyone who frequents DoA or talks to me IRL knows it: My dolls came in. Like, two days after my last post. XD Business Day 21, I beleive. ^____^ So the gang's all here!! This post, however, is dedicated solely to the newly-remade Zrastja and a few photos of my new Puki Piki, Brownie. Vana and Erekor will have to wait. XP ^^

She needs her faceup redone (I'm not happy with it), but I'm too lazy to do it right now. XD I cannot express how crazy I am about this wig. I love it. The only problem is it's so soft and light that it gets frizzy and tangled rather easily. XP I also think, looking back at the photos, it was a little far back on her forehead, so I'll need to reposition it next time.

Also, Zrastja finally met Brownie, which would have segwayed into the photostory I accidentally deleted. XP So maybe I'll redo that photoshoot again some time. I'll have another post up right after this one with the photostory. ^_^ So... Zrastja!

So this post is all me, neither of my lovely ones involved. Around the beginning of month-- as many of you may know-- I ordered Vana an A-line small bust body, and a Puki Piki, because he was too cute NOT to order, and my mother is buying him for me as a gift for keeping my scholarship. ^_^ Excitement!

Well, apparently I put my order in JUST before the event period, and so-- I'm getting a Nanuri 2008 head!!!! Delight! At first I loved the head, but I had no idea what I'd do with it. Then, while driving to work one day, it suddenly just hit me in the face: Vana's evil dark lord master!!! The only one who SHOULD be an SD and CAN be an SD! Now, originally, that was Melkor. However, "Melkor" is fully copyrighted to J.R.R. Tolkien, and so: time for a name change. XD I loved the -kor ending and decided to keep it, which means the name ended up SOUNDING very similar, but wouldn't be copyright infringement. So when the head gets home, he will be the head of Erekor, my one and only SD. I'm planning on putting him on a DZ body, because it's cheaper and I hear the resin match is decent. X3 Hey, I'm not made of money, you know, and I wasn't planning on ever buying an SD. I need to save pennies where I can.

So that's what will be on the way from Fairyland (hopefully soon!). I'm on Business Day 18 of my wait, and Monday will be day 19. They say up to 40 days, but some people have been getting theirs shipped before that, so I've got my fingers crossed! Especially since I know the Pukis have been shipping super fast, which means Brownie is mostly likely already made and just waiting for the other two.

More good news: my Jedi robes came in! Heeee! They're made by the brilliant T4124 and are custom color (green instead of the dark brown) for my Brownie. ^_^ I love them; they're so tiny!! She's been a pleasure to work with, and has put up with my incessant giddiness like a pro. Thank you for your patience! Once they got here I sent her a HUGE PM about how thrilled I was, because she didn't just send me the robes AND a tiny lightsaber she had. Oh no. She ALSO sent me an extra. A SCULPTED extra. One that is silently encouraging me to BUY ANOTHER PUKI. XDD I am talking about A SET OF LEKKU. For those who are not Star Wars nerds, or just not up-to-date on Twi'lek physique, "lekku" is the term for Twi'lek head tails. ^_____^ I LOVE TWI'LEK. I had never thought to buy one as a tiny, because they're so curvy and "sex symbol," that a baby didn't even cross my mind. X3 Now it has, though! If I ever buy Qyren (my Jedi Twi'lek character) as a Puki, she and the lekku will be painted a deep purple. ^_^ Gorgeous. I was so thrilled when I saw her note about them that I couldn't even form a coherent sentence. So when I say "it made my day," that is a terrible understatement. XDDD

Now, for the explanation of why Zrastja, when she is now a full doll instead of a floating head, and has her perfect wig and all, has not been photographed. Please know: I would love to. This isn't my usual procrastination, it's simply that I can't photograph her until she's perfect and complete. I want her first photoshoot as a full doll instead of a body snatcher to be done when her crazy amount of body work is finished. XD With any luck, it won't look like crap from my amateur skills. Hopefully my critical nature of all things done by me will help make it not too crappy. Still, I need to get her body work done and for that I need sealant.

I have discovered that Junkyspot carries MSC UV-cut. I NEED the UV-cut specifically because I don't want Vana's body (or any of the dolls) yellowing. Considering I am pretty sure her face is sealed with the MSC UV-cut and that's why it's so pretty and white, I don't want her resin yellowing the way the LAST body did and then not matching her face. This is also what I'll be trying out on Zrastja, since my can of Testors is low and I really don't want her yellowing more either (if that's possible. XD). I ordered the MSC (and a set of eyes for Brownie!) last Tuesday evening, and got the payment confirmation on Wednesday.

So, my current excuse for why Zrastja isn't done is that I am waiting on my package so that I can make her pretty and deliver her to you. ^_^ Due to the holiday on Friday, however, I'm waiting on a reply for a UPS tracking number from the company. XP Because, as usual, UPS is letting me down by being late. BUT! Once that package gets here, I can finally get Zrastja's faceup and body tattoos done. She's going to be a doozy! I've been wanting to do this since I finally finished up her character (if anyone's character can EVER be completed) and I have almost all the first generation tattoos planned out. Since she's a goddess, she gets to switch em up next time around, but aside from my indecision for the tattoo on her other leg, and if she should have arm tattoos, she's all set. Her hand tattoos have been planned FOR AGES, so I'm really focused on the rest of her body. My darling boyfriend came up with an idea for how her face tattoo should look, and my Mom editted a little, and then I editted a little, and came up with something I like. Mom doesn't like it as much. XP Maybe I should have stuck to it just being down one side of her face by her ear and left it at that!

Hmm.. maybe next time I can theme her body tattoos to be all ivy... Ooh...

Oh goodness, what to say...

Well, hi all, Vana here. I am, yet again, a head. What makes me want to post whenever I lose my body? Who knows.

Also, it's very hard to shrug at that without a body, in case anyone was wondering.

Zrastja is going to be getting my old body, because it matches her resin, and I will be receiving a brand new super jointed body so I can pose pretty for Mom (*grumble* Not that she ever takes pictures of me anyway... *Clearly complaining*). Zra can't get photos taken of her until AFTER Liz comes back from Anime Next, though, because Liz found her a proper wig and Zra needs a new faceup before she can get photos. I'm kind of excited to be able to do photoshoots with another doll though, outside of the few times Mom takes me to play with other dolls.

Ooh! And I hear we're finally getting a boy for the family! I'm really excited to see him, and Mom says he's really cute. Can't wait, can't wait! Finally! A straight boy! I don't know why she just snickered when I typed that... It's true, she said so.

Liz: It is. He's definitely straight.

Okay, good. Then why... oh, nevermind, you're a very strange human.

Liz: Bah.

I feel awfully bad for not paying more attention to Vana and Zra. Once summer rolls around... I promise. Plus, I should have the new body and my Piki by then! ^_^ Cannot wait.

Also... I can't believe I never posted these. *looking at photos* DraconicMaiden, ages ago, made Vana this GORGEOUS dress, which contributed to one of my favorite photo shoots with her. I do love summer for photo settings. I'll post those the next time around. For now, I'll provide some more recent shots. The first set was taken out on the back porch a few weeks ago, and the second set are from last Wednesday. It was so beautiful out I couldn't help but get some of Vana in the tree, and she posed rather well, with a little work. I'll have to try harder from now on!! (And get her more skirts! XD)

I promise to post the maple tree photo shoot here the day I took it, but... well, I'm posting the porch one for now, and when I get more time later I'll do the tree too. For right now though, I have work to do. ^^;; So sometime later, I'll get the prettier ones up.

HA! So yes, it's been 4 months since I last posted here, and things are well. I went to a meetup back in February (thank you wickedwigs/wickedstitchery!) and had a blast, but otherwise things doll-wise have been very quiet.

*Muffled sounds from her closed dollbag*

Got a few new outfits, took a couple half-assed photos, and I don't think I posted any of them. Zrastja has gotten her winter faceup (but for a few dirty spots she looks divine, which is only right and proper) and I have come to the decision to buy both a Puki Piki to become Brownie, a forest imp, and the new double-jointed MNF body for Vana. That way I will have the old body for Zrastja, which I find more aesthetically pleasing although obviously not as poseable as the new one, and I'll have the new one for Vana's crazy-ass posing, which will hopefully match her skintone more closely. The old body and Zra's head have both yellowed, so the resin match is better than a new body would be anyway. ^^;

So yes, I have plans in the works, and in addtion have a crapload of other things to save up for (i.e. passport, trip to Canada, AN, AN costume). Still debating whether or not to bring Vana or Zrastja to AN... Probably not, though, as I'll be busy with other stuff and won't have time for many photos, knowing me. ^_^ I hope those two DoD cosplayers will be there again, their costumes were GORGEOUS.

Well, Vana's been in there a while and isn't so happy. I took her out once for some reason or another... but I can't really remember what now, so I just let it slide. ^_^

Anyway, that's my fast update for this month before school. I'll see if I can't scrounge up the old photos I have yet to put up-- and there are a LOT-- and make a couple of posts soon.

It has been absolutely FOREVER since I updated this! June to December? Dreadful lack of attention to this. Well, lots has happened since then. I finished Zra's faceup, for the most part, but am looking to get materials for Christmas so I can wipe her face and give her a new one. ^_^ Should be exciting. I want to give her a winter-themed faceup, so we'll see how THAT goes. Also, I want to try and bring out her fangs a bit more. I may use acrylic, because I didn't have the patience to continue layering on the white for her fangs via chalk pastel.

Anyway, this following shoot of Zra is totally shameless rip from the DoA photostory I posted. I think I only had one reply, though. T_T Sad panda... *sigh* Anyway, figured I'd at least keep a record of her here! Then-- MAYBE-- I'll post some of Vana from Evaluna's meet in September, cause my favorite shot of her was taken there. I think that I'm starting to like Vana better with shorter hair... A wig I picked up at the meet makes her look very feral and wolfy-- it's werewolf Vana!-- and it brings out her playful side. I like her better in that than either of her expensive wigs. And I like her pictures better with the pink wig than the blonde one. Maybe because they make her look happier and the blonde makes her look more serene and Elf-y? Hmm... I don't know. It makes me sad a bit, because she's supposed to be Vana and she's happier NOT looking like typical Vana. Worries me a little too. I'd never give up either of my Shushus, but the thought of needing another Vana scares me. Oh well, I won't overreact, and I won't think about that until it happens. I'll just have to wait and see!
